Some great works
(Movies: 4-star scale, books: 5-star scale)
The Incredibles ****
Strange how a story of two middle-aged superheroes and their children can be such an open celebration of the excellent, but it works flawlessly. This is possibly the best Pixar movie yet. Makes you feel great.
The Effective Executive Revised, by Peter F. Drucker *****
I don't know what's revised about this book, considering all the examples are from companies well-known in the 60s and a section on this new phenomenon called the computer, but still, it is probably more relevant today than it was when it was first published, in 1967. Fantastic, with some advice that's recently been integrated into mainstream professional and managerial teachings (such as a focus on strengths being most effective), and other advice that will probably still take a while to be widely accepted (such as how to make effective decisions).
